2011 – African-style mask

1240 18th Street

This is in the pavement in front of Ralph Bunche High School. I hope it lasts a long time.

2011 – Rosas Brothers

2011e

1825 Linden Street

This shows that Rosas Brothers did indeed have a stamp made for the year 2011; until now all my examples were hand-altered from a different year. The blocks around here have dozens more.

2001 – EBMUD

2001f

Union Street at 21st Street

There are several of these around the big East Bay MUD center. I recorded another EBMUD mark four years ago with a different logo and no date. Glad to have this one now.

1958 – C. Valenzuela

1958f

4415 Park Boulevard

There are lots of marks along lower Park Boulevard, east of 580, but very few on upper Park.

1955 – Grove, Shepherd, Wilson & Kruge

1955i

1960 Mandela Parkway

I believe this is the only concrete stamp on all of Mandela. It sits next to the American Steel building, and somehow it escaped the repaving after the 1989 earthquake. I think this group must have been the developers of the site. Wikipedia tells me that the firm was the developer of the Cypress Structure, although that contract started in 1956.

1942 – S. Giuntoli
