2255 MacArthur Boulevard

When I shot this, I thought I was documenting a 1918 mark, but then I got home and saw the real date at the bottom. It’s 1915, and a better example than this one. Thanks to Ken for correcting me (see his comment).

2029 E. 19th Street

The date is easier to see in person.

E. 20th Street at 22nd Avenue

This is a real definitive example of a Schnoor Bros. mark from 1915, which I believe is the firm’s first year. P. Schnoor & Son used the same mark, and I have examples from 1911, 1912 and 1913.

Notice that all the 1’s are backwards, and the dash in the date is also a backwards “1.”

1611 E. 33rd Street

This date was really hard to figure out.

295 29th Street

(There’s a similar, more damaged mark at 1139 Peralta Street.)

I have another 1915 Sandin & Swanson mark that uses “1915” for the year and has the month placed below it.

1438 16th Avenue

This is a configuration of the Catucci mark that I haven’t seen before. Tomorrow I’ll present a version from 1916. Both are in the neighborhood around the Catucci Building at 18th Avenue and E. 12th Street.

I think this says M. Soares & Co.
