There are about ten of these on this block, which probably constitutes a unique set of dated Fitzmaurice marks. All but this one have nice hand-drawn dates in an antique hand.

Lakeshore Avenue at Walavista Avenue
The Piedmont Paving Company was founded in 1893 to operate the quarry in the Davie Tennis Stadium, which was originally the home of the Alameda Macadamizing Company quarry, upon the death of that company’s partner Hugh Slicer. Its offices were downtown in the Union Savings Bank Building. It remained in business into the 20th century.
Its sidewalk stamps are quite rare, and undated.

I believe that these are birth marks, placed along the curb to note the births of Mike and Steven Real. They consist of a name on the top, a date in the middle, and what looks like the birthweight and the time of birth on the bottom. Pretty cool.
