This tiny street features an interesting hand-drawn mark by Mr. Buel (I also have a horseshoe mark of his from this year). What did he write in the driveway that has since been covered with asphalt?

1635 Leimert Boulevard

This is the first A. A. Johnson mark I’ve found. There are lots of A. A. Johnson & Son marks, all of which postdate this one. (I’m thinking that the one I called 1931 is really a 1936.) That hints at a story.

1933 Hoover Avenue

Nice to have a representative of this charming street in the Oakmore neighborhood.

This mark completes my survey of Fruitvale Avenue, a major thoroughfare that goes from the Bay to the Oakmore hills.

This gives me a complete set of Otto Hennig’s marks from 1928 to 1942.

You could call this date overdetermined: it says “Feb. 25” at the top, “1941” in the middle and “2 – 41” at the bottom.
