I can’t tell what comes before “Riding,” but it’s clearly not George so I’ll leave it at that.

1515 25th Avenue

This is my first mark from a contractor with an East Oakland address. If anyone knows when “Old County Road” lost its name, we can get a sense of how old this is. My first guess is that this dates from around 1910.

East 16th Street at Fruitvale Avenue

Few contractors use a lozenge-shaped mark, but here’s another.

Lower Fruitvale somewhere; unfortunately I’ve lost the address.

The address establishes this as J. Rodrigues, and it explains the weird configuration of the 1928 Rodrigues mark as the result of a breakup with Mr. Souza.

5623 Gaskill Street

I’ve documented this mark before, but here we have one with the street address.

Gaskill Street was originally called Park Street, as noted on the sidewalk at the corner with 54th Street.
