R. D. Stoecker tended to do big jobs, notably the Grass Valley subdivision (in 1957 and 1959) and most of Bancroft Avenue (in 1957). This part of the Sequoyah Heights development features several unambiguous examples from 1958.

1 Sequoyah View Circle

This was a pleasant surprise, first because stamps are scarce in the Sequoyah neighborhood and second because it extends the record of the Barale dynasty two more years.

Not too certain about this one. But Silvio Giuntoli’s career began in the mid-1920s, and I have dates through 1949, all of which use the same tiny numerals for the year as he used for the month and day. If this were from 1930, he would have used the numerals for the “30.” I prefer to think that he got tired of the whole thing in January 1950 and just scratched in “50.”

Ensor H. Buel left his horseshoe mark and his signature in all parts of Oakland in the 1930s and 1940s. It’s only fitting that this was the last sidewalk stamp I found on the last day of my systematic survey.
