This Frank Salamid mark is full of pathos: I imagine him, two months after Black Monday and two days before Christmas, getting in one last piece of work to help end the year on a hopeful note. And we know Frank survived, although this is the latest mark I have before 1940. So far I’ve seen nothing with his name from the Depression years [update: very few].
4133 Manila Avenue
J. Devoto marks are fairly common, but good dates are not. This is the earliest one I’ve found.

I have a 1940 mark by A. Angelo too from nearby.
4172 Opal Street
There is a “J. Anderson” as well as J. Andersen. The address 3774 Howe Street is under today’s Macarthur-Broadway building, soon to be replaced by a new Kaiser hospital building. This must be the same Andersen as the Andersen & Montgomery company, although that was at 3796 Howe.
4191 Montgomery Street
Atlas is uncommon; I’ve seen only two so far, both from 1927.
