I’ve seen J. Bowen stamps before, but on this block of Taft there are several of them, at least two of them with 1936 dates. Notice that the bar under the name is actually a series of dashes.

The Schnoor Brothers and their predecessor P. Schnoor & Son both used this shield mark. Schnoor marks are usually not dated or dated with very light traces, making them difficult to read.
