I’ve walked past this mark countless times and stared at it intently often, but on a bright low-sun December morning a date finally emerged in the center of this early McGettigan mark. The letters are deepset, but so indistinct that I left then unswept this time.

This Frank Salamid mark is barely visible except under strong low-angle light. But it’s the first one I’ve found from the 1930s.

I love Brook Street, it’s funky and quiet and some of the back yards front on a living stream, the one that’s culverted through Mosswood Park. And this driveway has only my second dated Aaron Dahlquist mark.
