Unlike my other McCaffrey marks, this one has large numerals for the date. Who knows why he substituted them for his usual little ones this year.

700 Calmar Avenue

Here’s a significant mark, Poblitz and Brill together on the same mark. I have a Brill mark in this same escutcheon in which the “Poblitz” was erased.

1236 Ashmount Avenue

Pedgrift seems to have concentrated on larger, or at least more complete projects, not just sidewalks. The home builder on this lot, right on the Piedmont line, had more resources than the usual.

908 E. 28th Street

1250 E. 34th Street

There are a pair of these at this address. Both of them are much better preserved than the one I documented earlier, except for the date, which required extreme scrutiny.

800 block E. 24th Street

Flener is a familiar name on Oakland streets, but I haven’t seen a Griffin of any sort before. This mark gives a date, an anchor in time, for E. Flener.
