This is a classic apartment building with, I think, my first hand-drawn N. Lena mark.

656 Capell Street

Finally, a second example of this intriguing mark.

2816 E. 9th Street

This differs from my previous 1924 Silva mark in having the month included.

1862 40th Avenue

This mark sits in a driveway, where sidewalk upgrades left it alone.

3300 Elmwood Avenue

I’ve found several different J. C. Vieira marks in Jingletown and East Jingletown. It fits the area’s Portuguese heritage.

175 7th Street

I looked carefully but didn’t see an initial for Fugel, but I must presume that this was P. Fugel. The only other Fugel & Son mark I’ve found is actually Fugel & Sons, from 1927. I am far from untangling the history of the Fugels.

Joe. B. Silva is a new maker for me.
