Clifton Street at Locksley Avenue
Frank Salamid marks have an endless variety in their orientation and in the placement of the date. Nearly every one I find is a new variant.

5266 Boyd Avenue

5263 College Avenue
I walked over this mark for months before I realized it was a date I didn’t have.

4325 Howe Street
Recently I took advantage of the low light to walk Howe and Montgomery Streets again, and I found some new marks and reshot some other ones. This F. E. Nelson mark was the prize, hidden under overhanging growth.

5685 Keith Avenue
A double-sided Esterly mark. There’s another 1911 mark, somewhat more degraded, at 5678 Ocean View Drive. I didn’t have my umpire’s brush to sweep it clean, so you see this au naturel.

473 Hardy Street
The first Frank Salamid stamps were by Frank Salamid & Co.

24 Rio Vista Avenue
Esterly marks are quite old and scarce. I’ve found only a few.
