My first F. W. Metge mark with a date. It has been a real pleasure to survey the Fruitvale area and see marks from the days when Fruitvale was still its own town.

1807 40th Avenue

Esterly used both proper stamps and handwritten marks. Someone was definitely showing off here with his graceful cursive in fresh concrete.

610 Aileen Street

This is the third year I’ve found for Schnoor & Son; previously I’ve found 1912 and 1913.

880 43rd Street

This is the third 1911 mark I have, and as usual it’s different from the other two.

72 Vernon Street

This pushes back the record one more year for this firm.

5733 Hermann Street

Reardon-Crist is a new one for me; if I see a better one I’ll confirm the name.

5739 Hermann Street

This is the oldest mark I can think of that includes a telephone number.
