1908 – Burnham Co.

I have another 1908 Burnham Co. stamp, from Oakland. This one has the “8” upside-down.

    This long block of Prince Street between College and Claremont has a number of very nice stamps from 1910 and earlier (including a 1910 Esterly stamp with a handwritten “10” next to the partial stamped year of “190_”). One of my favorites on this block is a pair of small Keystone Const. Co. stamps at a walkway just inboard from the sidewalk at 2814 Prince. The last digit was tough to read but it may be 1905 or 1906. It’s been awhile since I’ve been along there – I should go back and have another look.

    I don’t think there are any of these Keystone marks in Oakland but these are worth checking out if you’re back along this block of Prince.
