East Bay MUD apparently dated their stuff for a while. This is actually the only example I’ve found for these bronze whatever-they-ares.

i saw another of these today, also dated 1949 from E. F. Co., at Park Blvd. at Everett (near the 76 station)

I assume that E. F. means Empire Foundry, the venerable Oakland company.
