I found two nearly identical stamps to this one in Alameda this morning, but they both very clearly show “F.C. Johnson”. The “L” and “P” in the stamp shown here look like they could have been altered from other letters – F.C. and L.P. were relatives, I’d guess? The two in Alameda have year markings of 1924 and 1925.

There’s a Fred C. Johnson, cement contractor, listed in the 1925 directory living at 1530 Benton in Alameda and a Louis P. Johnson, cement worker, living at 1828 9th Avenue in Alameda. Fred and his wife Christina were Danish (1930 census). Louis appears to be their son, born in 1898. He lived until 1990 and is buried at Mountain View.
