Oakland Underfoot

Not sure whether this one is still there…at least I haven’t spotted it in a couple of walks along Brook Street, and The Oakland Paving Co. stamps are usually hard to miss. So I was happy to hear from a friend yesterday that he’d seen one with a 1916 date on Tanglewood near Claremont Avenue, which seems to be just across the Berkeley line. I went up there this afternoon and found it, as well as a pair of 1916 Oakland Paving Co. stamps right around the corner and down the hill on Claremont. These two look like they’re just barely inside Oakland according to a couple of maps I checked though it’s tough to tell for sure.
