1941 – Ensor H. Buel

This must be the same guy as E. H. Buel. I’ve since learned he was the nephew of W. E. Ensor, who used the same horseshoe mark.

    Ensor H. Buel worked in Berkeley during the 1930s-50s. Died around 1992. He was the contractor for many of the Grid Form Buildings in West Berkeley. See Berkeley Daily Planet article I wrote here.

    So the other horseshoe mark was probably his grandfathers.

    Susan, many thanks for that info! I look forward to finding more dates; as of right now I have only four (1938, 1940, 1941, 1949) and six W. E. Ensor marks dating from 1922 to 1931.
